Police Academy saga Marion Ramsey (Officer Laverne Hooks) has died aged 73

Marion Ramsey, the sweet-voiced Officer Laverne Hooks of the Police Academy comedy saga, has died aged 73 in Los Angeles, California. According to the Deadline website, the actress had been ill for several days, but no cause of death has been announced.
Marion Ramsey appeared in all six Police Academy films, which ran from 1984 to 1989.
She has made other notable television appearances in Beverly Hills 90210, MacGyver, The Nanny, and Robot Chicken.
