At least 20 people were killed Sunday nightin Mexico during a shooting in the state of Michoacan, a massacre denounced Monday by the president of the Republic who attributed it to the rivalry between criminal groups fighting for this state in the center of the country.
One victim died during his transfer to a health center, which brings to 20 the number of people who died in this attack, said the prosecutor's office of the state of Michoacan, a state caught like many others in the war between rival drug trafficking groups. The bodies of 19 lifeless people (16 men and three women) with bullet marks were found in the town of Las Tinajas, said a statement from the Attorney General's Office on Sunday night. Several other people were injured and transferred to hospital, the statement said.
