Flames from hell: burning train causes panic after collision with tanker in Mexico, several neighborhoods evacuated

Sylvie Claire / October 21, 2022

A gigantic and impressive fire broke out this Thursday in Aguascalientes, Mexico, following a collision between a tanker and a train. The shock caused the explosion of the tanker. The fire then spread to the freight train and to about 50 cars that were parked in the vicinity, local media reported.

In the images, the train can be seen continuing its journey after the impact while its cars are on fire. Motorists, stopped at a level crossing a little further away, abandoned their vehicles to drive away.

According to the commander of the Aguascalientes Fire Department, nearly 1,000 people were also evacuated from nearby neighborhoods because the fire spread to several homes and threatened others.

Miraculously, there were no injuries. The driver of the truck was arrested.
