“In many parts of the country, the virus has slowed its spread.  But we are not out of the woods, "he warned, however, during his daily press briefing on Tuesday.

Trudeau served the warning while several provinces, including Quebec, presented their plans for a gradual reopening of the economy.

"We are facing one of the most serious public health crises in the history of our country.  And if we lift the restrictions too quickly, we could lose all progress once made, "added Mr. Trudeau.

However, it is certain that Ottawa is increasing its efforts to provide more personal protective equipment for which demand may be encouraged even more when certain businesses reopen.

Trudeau said more than six million surgical masks will be shipped to provinces and territories this week.

"We make sure to increase the speed of equipment we receive and we also ensure Canadian production so that we can share the necessary equipment with more people before we start reopening the economy," said the first minister.
