A next virtual presidential debate? Donald Trump announces he will not participate!

Steph Deschamps / September 8, 2020

The second presidential debate between Republican President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden will be held virtually to ensure the safety of candidates in the face of the coronavirus, organizers announced Thursday. A modality that the American president declines.

"The two candidates will participate (in the debate) from separate and remote locations," while the moderator and a panel of Americans selected to interview the candidates will be in Miami, Florida, the organizing committee said in a statement.

These new modalities of the debate, still scheduled for October 15, are announced a week after the revelation of Donald Trump's contamination by the coronavirus. The latter announces that he will not participate.
