Bentley signs a world first in the luxury sector

Bentley brings a big novelty option on its flagship Flying Spur. It took 18 months to develop this World Premiere…

At the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Bentley presented 3D machined wood in the passenger compartment of its Exp 10 Speed 6 concept. This novelty had greatly impressed the press and enthusiasts of the automotive world. More than 5 years later, after 18 months of development to be added to the catalog, this option is available on the Flying Spur, the latest flagship of the British brand.

Walnut or cherry

These three-dimensional pieces of wood can be seen in the rear, of course, of the Flying Spur. Each piece is made from a block of walnut or American cherry, two very noble and sophisticated woods. To achieve such a result, Bentley can count, as always, on highly skilled craftsmen who use a multi-axis milling machine with a tolerance of 0.1 mm, less than the thickness of some hairs!
