The unforgettable head from "E.T.", the iconic bathrobe from "Big Lebowski" and Princess Diana's engagement blouse will go on sale next weekend in the United States, as part of an auction dedicated to "Hollywood legends ».

"Hollywood Legends" takes place from Thursday to Sunday in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, with thousands of cult items unveiled to the press on Monday.

"These objects are now seen as an asset class, not just memories or a time in our lives," Martin Nolan, managing director of auction house Julien's Auctions, told AFP. "It's a lot more fun than stocks or bonds, or a lot of other things you have in your investment portfolio," he stressed.

Among these "assets" is a model of the head from Steven Spielberg's iconic film "E.T.", which Martin Nolan says could fetch up to a million dollars.

As for the Coen brothers' cult film "The Big Lebowski", the bathrobe of the character played by Jeff Bridges is expected to fetch $50,000.

The blouse Princess Diana wore in her 1981 engagement photo will also be on sale, and organizers estimate that it could fetch up to $100,000.

Other items for sale include a jacket worn by Audrey Hepburn in "Charade" (1963) and the famous computer used by Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker's character in "Sex and the City ».
