Man suspected of shooting his four children arrested near Los Angeles

Steph Deschamps / November 30, 2021

The four children, the oldest of whom was only 12 years old, and their grandmother were found dead at the family home in Lancaster, north of Los Angeles.

The five victims had bullet holes in their upper bodies, said police, who were notified of the tragedy on Sunday evening.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Monday morning it arrested the father of the family, Germarcus David, in connection with the murders. He was taken into custody on $2 million bail.

The man, 29, is a security guard whose gun permit was revoked, according to the Los Angeles Times newspaper.

Firearm homicides are a recurring plague in the United States, where they are widespread and easily accessible due in part to constitutional provisions protecting the right of American citizens to bear arms.
