Man opens fire at US birthday party: 7 dead

Colorado Springs police received an emergency call in the morning from a mobile home park, where they found six adults shot to death and one man critically injured.

The latter was transported to the hospital where he died of his injuries

Initial investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in one of the mobile homes, where families were gathered to celebrate a birthday.

None of the children present were injured, according to police, and all were picked up by family members. The victims have been identified.

The United States has seen a series of gun attacks in recent weeks: at a FedEx delivery service site in Indianapolis, an office building in California, a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, and at several spas in Atlanta.

U.S. President Joe Biden last month called gun violence in the United States an epidemic and an international disgrace.

More than 43,000 gun deaths were recorded in the United States last year, including suicides, according to figures from the Gun Violence Archive, a gun violence research organization.
