Kamala Harris speaks out on U.S. presidential election day: “I encourage everyone to get out and vote”

Eva Deschamps / November 5, 2024

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris urged Americans on Tuesday to “get out and vote” on this crucial presidential election day during a broadcast on a local radio station in Georgia, a key state.

“I encourage everyone to get out and vote,” said the vice president, who is opposed to Donald Trump, adding that this election was an ‘inflection point’ and emphasizing the two ‘very different visions of the nation's future’ on offer.

The Democratic candidate will also be attending the election evening at Howard University, her former Alma Mater, in the federal capital Washington DC.

More than 82 million Americans have already cast their votes early, and it's impossible to know whether it will take hours or days of counting to decide between the vice-president and the former leader, whose personalities and visions couldn't be more different.
