Joe Biden says he's even more motivated to seek a second term if Donald Trump is the nominee

Joe Biden said that if Donald Trump were to run for president in 2024, he would be even more determined to seek a second term. It would increase the chances of me running, he said.

The 79-year-old Democratic president was speaking in an interview with ABC that aired Wednesday night. Asked if he would run for re-election, Biden said, Yes.

What if that meant he would have to face 75-year-old Donald Trump again? You're trying to tempt me, he replied with a smile. Of course, why wouldn't I run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That would increase the chances of me running, he said.

Trump continues to hammer away, without foundation, that the 2020 presidential election between him and Joe Biden was fraudulent and that it was stolen from him.

The man whose supporters attacked the Capitol on January 6 to prevent the certification of his rival's victory has hinted in recent months that he may run for another term.

Biden, whose advanced age is fueling speculation about his intentions for 2024, has already indicated that he plans to run again.

While his vice president Kamala Harris was initially thought to be his natural heir, Washington is buzzing with rumors about her relationship with the president and her political future.

Ms. Harris, 57, seems to be struggling to find her place in the White House, where she is in charge of particularly sensitive missions related to minority voting access or the origins of the migratory crisis on the southern border with Mexico.
