Donald Trump assassination attempt: shooter had researched Joe Biden, “July 13 will be my first”

Steph Deschamps / July 19, 2024

A few days ago, Thomas Mathew Crooks was a complete unknown, but today he's world famous. It has to be said that attempting to assassinate a former and potentially future President of the United States attracts a great deal of attention, particularly from those in charge of security.

U.S. personnel investigating the circumstances surrounding his assassination attempt have already gathered a great deal of information about him from his smartphones and computer. Aged 20, the man had left serious clues as to his intentions prior to the act. “July 13 will be my first,” he warned on the online gaming platform Steam.

Thomas Matthew Crooks had also consulted images of numerous other American politicians, including Joe Biden. He also sought information about the schedule for the Democratic Convention. All of which suggests that the young man may have been trying to kill a famous politician, regardless of his political affiliation, although we can't be sure of anything at present.
