Breathtaking: Astronaut Victor Glover films Earth from space with his smartphone

US astronaut Victor Glover arrived aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on Tuesday. At 44, he was the first black astronaut to live on this type of station. He will stay six months aboard this orbital laboratory, which spins around the Earth 400 kilometers above the oceans.

Shortly before arriving on the ship, the engineer took out his smartphone to film Earth. "The video doesn't do him justice. It's really quite amazing now," he says. "The precision of the details and the sensory stimuli provide a breathtaking perspective," he added on his Twitter account.
