Edwin Castro is the American who won the biggest lottery jackpot ever in the United States. It was last year that changed his life completely, and since then, he's been multiplying his pleasures.

After winning the incredible sum of two billion dollars in the lottery in 2022 when he was just 31, Edwin Castro has just bought a mega villa worth $47 million in the Bel Air district of Los Angeles. He had already purchased two sumptuous homes in recent months. Since he won, Castro has multiplied his spending, and financial experts have serious doubts about his money management.

According to HLN, since the winner's name is publicly known, his purchases are closely monitored and everything ends up in American newspapers. The mega-villa he's just bought boasts no fewer than seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, as well as an infinity pool offering breathtaking views of Los Angeles.

Shortly after his win, Edwin Castro had already invested in a million-dollar house. Then he went one step further and bought himself a $25.5 million home. In all, the American has already spent no less than $76 million on real estate. He also bought a vintage Porsche worth $250,000.

American financial experts don't take kindly to all this spending. For example, as explained in "Fortune" magazine, they claim that the first house Castro bought can cost up to a million dollars a year in upkeep alone! The experts' advice is therefore to ask for lottery winnings to be spread over 29 years, even if the vast majority of winners prefer a one-off payment.
