War in Ukraine: The Russian authorities will have to answer for these crimes, the images that reach us are unbearable, says Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron denounced on Sunday the unbearable images from the Ukrainian town of Boutcha where many bodies were discovered, saying that the Russian authorities will have to answer for these crimes.
 
The images that have reached us from Boutcha, a liberated city near Kiev, are unbearable, wrote the head of state on Twitter, denouncing: In the streets, hundreds of civilians cowardly murdered.
 
The bodies of 57 people were found this Sunday, April 3, 2022 in a mass grave in Boutcha, near Kiev, Ukraine. The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, reacted on his Twitter account. The head of state expressed his compassion for the victims and his solidarity with the Ukrainians.
  
The French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, in a statement sent to AFP, also said: I have learned of reports of massive abuses committed by Russian forces in Ukrainian cities they occupied in recent weeks, particularly in the town of Bucha.
 
He added: I condemn in the strongest possible terms such acts which, if confirmed, constitute war crimes. He continued: We will work with our partners, the Ukrainian authorities and the competent international courts, in particular the International Criminal Court, to ensure that these acts do not go unpunished and that those responsible are tried and convicted.
