A Russian missile hit a busy shopping mall in Kremenchuk, central Ukraine, on Monday, killing 13 people and injuring more than 40.
Boris Johnson condemned Monday the Russian strike on a shopping mall in Ukraine, which he said shows the cruelty and barbarity of Vladimir Putin and only strengthens the determination of the West to support Kiev.
This appalling attack has shown once again the depths of cruelty and barbarity into which the Russian leader is willing to fall, the British Prime Minister said in a statement.
Putin must understand that his behavior will only strengthen the resolve of the UK and all other G7 countries to support Ukraine for as long as it takes, he added.
The strike came on a shopping mall in Krementchouk, central Ukraine, on the second day of the G7 major powers' summit in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany, which is largely dominated by the war started by Russia.
U.S. diplomatic chief Antony Blinken said the world was horrified by the Russian missile strike.
Describing the missile strike as the latest in a series of atrocities, the secretary of state said on Twitter that the U.S. would continue to support its Ukrainian partners and would hold Russia accountable, including those responsible for atrocities.
France accused Russia on Monday of appalling violations of humanitarian law in Ukraine and said Moscow should answer for these acts. France condemns the Russian missile strike on a supermarket in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, which left a dozen people dead and several dozen injured, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
Russia will have to answer for its actions. France supports the fight against impunity in Ukraine, continued the Quai d’Orsay.
G7 leaders on Monday called the strikes a war crime and an abominable attack. Indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians constitute a war crime, the leaders, meeting at a summit in southern Germany, said in a statement that solemnly condemns the abominable attack and assures that Vladimir Putin will be held accountable.
