Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday called on Ukrainians not to lay down their arms and defend Kiev, the capital, where the Ukrainian army is battling Moscow's forces, two days after the launch of the Russian invasion. I'm here. We're not going to lay down our arms and we're going to defend our country, Zelensky said in a video address posted in the morning on Facebook.

He called on people not to believe the false information circulating on the internet that he had called on his army to surrender. Our weapons are our truth. This is our land. It is our country. Our children. We will defend all this. Glory to Ukraine! he launched. This address was issued as the Ukrainian capital was fighting to avoid falling into the hands of the Russian army, fighting took place overnight on Victory Avenue, one of the main arteries of Kiev. According to the Ukrainian army, heavy fighting continued in Kiev in the morning.

For several days, even for some several weeks, many Ukrainians have testified to their willingness to fight for their nation. Thus, Mariana Jaglo, mother of three children, had insisted on her ambition to defend her country. During an interview with the press, in the kitchen of her apartment in Kiev on January 28, 2022, this 52-year-old army reservist already stated that she would stay to fight.
