War in Ukraine: Kiev says Azovstal factory bombed, at least five dead in Odessa strikes

Steph Deschamps / April 24, 2022

At least five people were killed and 18 injured in Russian strikes Saturday on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odessa, the Ukrainian presidential chief of staff said.

Odessa: five Ukrainians killed and 18 injured. And these are only those we have managed to find (at this stage). In all likelihood, the toll will be higher, said on Telegram Andriy Yermak, noting that a three-month-old baby was among the victims.

Moreover, Kiev assures that the Azovstal factory is the target of Russian bombing. Moscow had assured Thursday to have liberated Marioupol and Mr. Putin had ordered to besiege, without assault, the Azovstal metallurgical complex where Ukrainian fighters are entrenched. Many civilians are also in the factory.
