Here is the latest information about the war in Ukraine.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo announced Friday that he had invited his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky and confirmed that he had invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit to be held in November in Indonesia. I have invited President Zelensky to participate in the G20 summit, the Indonesian president said, suggesting that a compromise had been reached following Western pressure to exclude Russia from the group since the start of its invasion of Ukraine.

Russia confirmed Friday that it carried out a strike with high-precision weapons against the Ukrainian capital Kiev the day before, in the midst of a visit by U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Russian forces destroyed with long-range high-precision weapons the workshops of the space company Artiom in the city of Kiev, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a briefing.

At least one person was killed in a Russian strike against Kiev on Thursday during a visit to the Ukrainian capital by U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Mayor Vitaly Klitschko said on Telegram on Friday. Rescue workers found a body while clearing debris at the affected site near the city center, he added. Four injured were hospitalized, he said in a separate message noting that in total, more than 100 Kiev residents had been killed since the Russian invasion began two months ago.

An operation to evacuate civilians holed up in the Azovstal factory besieged by Russian troops in Mariupol, in southeastern Ukraine, is envisaged for Friday, the Ukrainian presidency announced. An operation to get civilians out of the factory is being considered for today, the presidency said in a statement on Friday. Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians including dozens of children are trapped, according to Kiev, in this huge steel plant of Azovstal in Mariupol, with the last Ukrainian fighters in the city, almost completely destroyed and controlled by Russian forces after weeks of siege.

The United States cannot afford to remain passive in the face of the conflict in Ukraine, explained Joe Biden on Thursday to justify his request to Congress for a colossal budgetary extension of 33 billion dollars to mainly deliver more military aid to Kiev. Of this total, 20 billion dollars must go to the supply of arms, which is nearly seven times more than the impressive quantities of arms and ammunition already supplied to Ukraine since the Russian invasion, which began on February 24.
Kiev has already received 10 anti-tank weapons for each Russian armored vehicle, the American president boasted during his speech at the White House. But the United States does not attack Russia, he assured, they help Ukraine to defend itself against atrocities and aggression Russian. The Kremlin had earlier warned against arms deliveries to Ukraine that threaten the security of Europe.

The United States will not let Moscow intimidate European countries by threatening to deprive them of its energy resources, said Joe Biden on Thursday, after Russian gas deliveries to Poland and Bulgaria were stopped. We will not let them use their oil or gas reserves to avoid the consequences of their aggression in Ukraine, the American president launched. We are working with other countries, like Korea, Japan or Qatar, to help our European allies threatened by this Russian gas blackmail, he added.

This Thursday, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres visited the Ukrainian capital. During his visit, Russia sent several missiles on Kiev, five in total according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
