Valentin jumped out of a hot air balloon at an altitude of 2,600 m in Turkey: I had to think very quickly about everything

Valentin Delluc, one of the best speedflyers in the world, recently completed a spectacular flight through the famous Cappadocia region of Turkey. He performed a series of thrilling tricks in a beautiful landscape.
From the cliffs of Uçhisar Castle to the peaks of fairy chimneys, wall rides and balloon jumps, Delluc conquered one of the most magical places in Turkey, Cappadocia, with extraordinary tricks he had never performed before.
As part of his Fairy Flight project, Delluc jumped out of a hot air balloon at an altitude of 2,600 meters and performed an extraordinary flight between fairy chimneys and hot air balloons.
It was a different kind of flying than what I'm used to. These flights require more technique. I had to think of everything very quickly and in a short time and I had to control my energy. And the conditions were very different. But I really enjoyed the experience. From the air, Cappadocia offers an incredible view. It's a landscape that you can't see anywhere else in the world. »
In a limited amount of time, Delluc and the team had to deal with many factors such as natural conditions and logistics. Project manager Etienne Merel explains, "The most difficult part of the project was the wind. Every day was a new adventure because we couldn't really know how the wind would be and if Val would be able to fly. We only had a few test shots, the pressure was on. We had to get the first shots right. Many days we were ready to shoot on set, waiting for the best conditions for hours. Sometimes we went to the hotel without shooting. But even though we had to wake up every morning at 5 o'clock and see all the balloons in the sky, all the scenery, it was just beautiful. Making this project a reality and being in Cappadocia was fantastic. »
