Thunderclap in England: Brexit negotiator David Frost resigns from the British government

Eva Deschamps / December 19, 2021

Brexit negotiator David Frost, disappointed with Prime Minister Boris Johnson's policies, has resigned from the British government, the Mail on Sunday newspaper reported Saturday, citing a senior government source.

According to this source, David Frost, 56, shared in his resignation letter his disillusionment with the direction of government policy, pointing in particular to the Johnson administration's climate and health policies, as well as high taxes. However, he will not leave his post until early next year.

His departure is seen as a further setback for the Prime Minister, who is already in trouble with the Conservatives because of several scandals within the party.
