South Korea's first domestically designed space rocket failed to put its dummy payload into orbit after its first launch Thursday, President Moon Jae-in said.

The launch and deployment of the three phases of the Korean Satellite Launch Vehicle II rocket worked, as did the separation of the payload, President Moon said, but putting a dummy satellite into orbit remains an unfinished mission.
