The pregnant mother photographed after the bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol, Ukraine, has died. Her baby also did not survive.
Another striking image was captured in Ukraine, after the video of a mother and her children killed by mortar fire in Irpin outraged the world. Last week, a maternity hospital was bombed in Marioupol. A picture of a pregnant woman taken by the rescue team went around the world.
The photograph in question was taken by Evgeniy Maloletka. The latter indicates today that the mother succumbed to her injuries. Her baby also did not survive.
The Ukrainian authorities had drawn up an initial assessment of the attack. It stated that three people died and 17 were injured.
