Stabbing attack in a day care center in Brazil: an 18 year old teenager kills 5 people, including 3 children

Three small children and two employees of a nursery were killed Tuesday by a young man of 18 years armed with a knife in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina (south), announced the local police.
An 18-year-old man broke into a daycare center with a knife and attacked children and staff. Two adults and three children died, the Military Police announced in a statement.
The author (of this attack) also turned his knife against him, injuring his neck, abdomen and chest. He was transferred in serious condition to hospital, the text continues.
Authorities did not specify the ages of the victims, but local media reported that the facility served children from six months to two years old.
The attack took place in Saudades, a small town of about 10,000 inhabitants 600 km from Florianopolis, the capital of the state of Santa Catarina.
The last bloody school attack in Brazil was in March 2019, when two former students shot and killed eight people before taking their own lives at a middle school in Suzano, in the Sao Paulo region.
According to the commissioner, the assailant had no prior criminal record.
The governor of Santa Catarina, Daniela Reinehr, declared an official three-day mourning period.
