Russia claimed on Friday to have destroyed the Ukrainian army's largest fuel reserve near Kiev with cruise missiles the day before.

The largest remaining fuel reserve of the Ukrainian army, which was used to supply units in the central part of the country, was destroyed, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said in a statement.
According to the Russian state news agency Tass, the Russian military also destroyed four Ukrainian drones, for a total of 261 since the beginning of the invasion. In addition, 1,587 tanks and armored vehicles have been destroyed since February 24. On the other side, Ukrainian forces have reportedly retaken 35 km of ground east of Kiev, the British Ministry of Defense said Friday, adding that the Ukrainian army was likely to continue pushing Russian forces back toward Hostomel airport, northwest of Kiev.
The ministry added that logistical problems and Ukrainian resistance are also slowing down Russian attempts to bypass the town of Mykolayev to reach Odessa.
