Russia claims to control the largest coal-fired power plant in Ukraine

Moscow said Tuesday that Russian troops have taken control of Ukraine's largest coal-fired power plant, located in the east of the country near Svitlodarsk.
The site has been disputed since late May.
In images circulating among separatist groups in Donetsk, mercenaries from the Wagner group, operating for Russia, are said to be in front of the administration building of the site. But the information is not verifiable and other sources indicate that fighting is continuing in the area.
The Ukrainian General Staff did not mention the power plant in its evening update. Instead, it reported fighting near Semyhirja, a little further west. The morning report mentioned air attacks on Ukrainian positions at the site.
