It is now clear that the Conservative Party wants a new leader and therefore a new Prime Minister, he said, saying he was sad to abandon the best job in the world.

I am immensely proud of the achievements of this government: to have achieved the Brexit, to have settled our relations with the continent (...), to have given back the power to this country to make its own laws, he said.
The Prime Minister also congratulated himself on having managed to get the country through the pandemic, putting in place the fastest vaccination campaign in Europe, the fastest decontamination.
He added that the timetable for the election of a new conservative leader would be specified next week.
