Peru seizes "Hitler cocaine" en route to Belgium

Sylvie Claire / May 28, 2023

Peruvian anti-drug police seized 58 kilos of cocaine, ready for shipment to our country. The drugs were individually wrapped in packages bearing a Nazi flag.

The white powder was divided into around fifty packets bearing the word "Hitler". The shipment was discovered in a container on a Liberian-flagged ship at the port terminal in Paita, a small town near Ecuador. No arrests have yet been made.

This is the first time that anti-drug police have intercepted a cocaine shipment bearing symbols of Nazi Germany.

Peru is one of the three largest cannabis-producing countries in the world, along with Bolivia and Colombia. Authorities estimate annual production at 400 tonnes. Last year, some 22 tonnes were seized.
