Paraguay's anti-drug prosecutor assassinated in Colombia

The prosecutor of Paraguay specialized in the fight against the drug trafficking, Marcelo Pecci, was assassinated in Colombia, on an island of the Caribbean, announced Tuesday in Bogota the chief of the Colombian police.
  
Five Colombian investigators were dispatched to the island of Baru where the murder was committed to conduct investigations with the support of Paraguay and the United States, said to the press General Jorge Luis Vargas.
 
He did not specify the date or the exact circumstances of the assassination, committed while the prosecutor was spending his honeymoon on this tourist island, according to the press.
 
Mr. Pecci had married on April 30 in the city of Cartagena a Colombian journalist, Claudia Aguilera, publishing photos of his wedding on his Twitter account. 
 
Also on Twitter, Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez condemned the cowardly murder of Prosecutor Marcelo Pecci in Colombia which mourns the entire Paraguayan nation.
 
We condemn this tragic act in the strongest terms and redouble our commitment to the fight against organized crime, commented the President.
 
A commission of policemen of Paraguay will go to Colombia to participate in the Colombian investigation, specified the general Vargas.
