Only two people survived the terrible plane crash in Muan, South Korea. One of them has regained consciousness in a Seoul hospital and is talking about the accident for the first time.

The images went around the world at the weekend. A plane crashed while attempting to land in Muan, a region of South Korea. 179 people died in the disaster.

Collision with birds? Landing gear failure? At present, it is still difficult to establish the reasons behind this catastrophe. Only two people - a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman - survived the impact. Seriously injured, the man regained consciousness in a Seoul hospital.

“When I regained consciousness, I had already been rescued,” explains Lee, who suffered multiple fractures, reports Het Laatste Nieuws. According to his doctors, completely disoriented, the flight attendant asked what had happened to him and what he was doing in hospital. “I put my seatbelt on,” Lee recalls. Then it was pitch black.

Lee risks complete paralysis. His life is no longer in danger. The other survivor, a 25-year-old flight attendant, has not yet been interviewed. She reportedly suffered two broken ankles, head wounds and abdominal injuries.

The two crew members were the only survivors. At the time of the crash, they were in the tail section of the plane, at the very back, the only part that was spared. To date, this disaster is the deadliest ever to have occurred on South Korean soil.
