More than 60 injured in gas explosion in Iran

More than 60 people were injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak at a factory in northwest Iran, official media reported Monday.
 
The explosion in a paint factory in the industrial city of Shahid Salimi, in the province of East Azerbaijan, injured at least 65 people, the official agency IRNA said.
 
Of these, it added, "22 people were treated on the spot and the rest in medical centers in the province, including about 20 in specialized hospitals in Tabriz," the provincial capital.
 
Located in the city of Azarshahr, Shahid Salami is the largest industrial city in northwest Iran. It hosts nearly 28,000 workers in 790 production units, according to state media.
