Takashi Miyagawa, a 39-year-old homeless part-time worker, was arrested in Osaka, Japan for scamming 35 women with whom he pretended to have a serious relationship.

He lied about his birthday in order to get gifts from his many victims, to whom he promised marriage. He told a 40-year-old woman that her birthday was in July, and another 35-year-old that her birthday was in April. The current number of victims is 35. They accuse Miyagawa of defrauding them of hundreds of euros.

Miyagawa allegedly met his victims while selling shower heads and other equipment through a marketing company. He allegedly began a romantic relationship with each of them for the sole purpose of defrauding them.

But as he began to lose himself in his web of lies, the women gradually discovered the scam. They all formed an association of victims and reported him to the police last February.
