It's hardcore violence, it's really a Deadpool movie: director Shawn Levy reassures fans before the third installment

Fox's atypical superhero returns for a third movie that looks like it will be in the same wave as the previous ones. An information that should appease fans worried about this third opus.

Violence, insult and 12+ rating, the Deadpool - Disney marriage does not seem like an obvious one. But after the acquisition of Fox by the latter, aficionados of the superhero played by Ryan Reynolds feared a Deadpool 3 too smooth, sanitized. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, assured that the spirit of the franchise would be preserved even after the integration into the universe.

According to Shawn Levy, the director of the upcoming film, this was not an empty promise. While working on the script for the third film, he told Collider: "We write, rewrite, develop, prepare Deadpool every day now. It's a real pleasure to laugh every day. It's great to hear, write and invent these scenes where people are just talking dirty. It's hardcore violence that just blows up in your face. It's really a Deadpool movie."

Particularity in this part: the presence of Hugh Jackman, aka Wolverine. "He is of course part of the movie. It's a lot of fun. I'm having so much fun, and I haven't even started shooting yet. I have to say that developing a Deadpool movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life, and not just because it's R-rated (minors must be accompanied by an adult to see the movie)."

So great things are in store for the film, which has already been announced in theaters on November 6, 2024, while filming has not yet begun. The shooting should begin next May.
