Incredible but true: a South African mother gives birth to 10 babies, she gave birth to seven boys and three girls!

Gosiame Thamara Sithole, 37 years, is since Monday holder of the world record of the biggest pregnancy.

On Monday, Gosiame Thamara Sithole entered the Guinness Book of Records after her stay in Pretoria Hospital. The reason? The South African mother gave birth  to tenfold! Aged 37, she gave birth by caesarean section to seven boys and three girls.

The previous record was that of Halima Cissé, who gave birth to nine babies last May.

However, the analyses of the doctors did not foresee such an important pregnancy. At first, they had announced to Gosiame that she would become the happy mother of only six children.

The lady, already a mother of 6 year old twins, feared complications on the day of her delivery. In the end, the ten babies are alive and will have to spend several weeks in incubators. Teboho Tsotetsi, the father of the now 12 children, said he was happy.
