Iranian Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh is the shortest man in the world, according to the Guinness World Records.

The 20-year-old from the northwest of the country is 65.24 centimeters tall, nearly 7 centimeters shorter than the previous title holder, 36-year-old Edward Niño Hernandez of Colombia.

Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh speaks Kurdish and Persian and started an Instagram account with the help of a friend. Due to his height, he was unable to attend school and has difficulty reading and writing.

He hopes that his status as a world record holder will bring him some fame and eventually an income with which he can help his parents and other family members.
