On June 9, Bella Montoya, an Ecuadorian woman, was pronounced dead. 5 hours later, she was heard breathing and banging against her coffin. She finally passed away.
A video posted on Twitter a week ago showed 76-year-old Bella Montoya inside an open coffin, breathing heavily, surrounded by two men helping her.
With her "left hand she was hitting the walls and her hand was shaking", said her son, Gilbert Balberan, in another video broadcast by local media. The local press spoke of a "resurrection ».
My mom is on oxygen. Her heart is stable. The doctor pinched her hand and she reacted," explained Mr. Balberan at the time, as reported by the newspaper El Universo. Mrs Montoya was pronounced dead on June 9 in a public hospital in the coastal town of Babahoyo, in the south-west of the country.
According to the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Montoya had been hospitalized for a suspected stroke and "suffered cardiorespiratory arrest without responding to resuscitation maneuvers, following which the doctor on duty confirmed her death ».
But while his son "simply" asked for his mother to be alive and by his side from now on, the joy of finding her was short-lived, as the 76-year-old actually died a week after the event, according to a press release from the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health. For his part, her son said he was going to lodge a complaint.
