Japan braces for the onset of powerful Typhoon Chan-hom, Hurricane Delta strengthens in Category 2 after leaving Mexico

Japan was bracing for the onset of powerful Typhoon Chan-hom which is expected to bring significant amounts of precipitation and cause flooding, landslides, mudslides and high waves, weather services warned on Thursday. Japanese.

 

The slowly moving typhoon has already reached some islands in the southwest of the archipelago where gusts of 180 km / h have been measured. Chan-hom is expected to reach the capital Tokyo and its surroundings on Saturday evening.

Hurricane Delta strengthens in category 2

 

Hurricane Delta, which is approaching the United States on Thursday after leaving Mexico, has strengthened to Category 2, on a scale of 5, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported.

 

Accompanied by winds blowing at 155 km / h, Delta was located at 8 a.m. HB, 780 kilometers off the coast of Louisiana and was moving at a speed of 28 km / h, according to the NHC.
