The criminal thesis favored for one of the two fires that hit the Gironde in France

The criminal theory is preferred in the investigation into the causes of the Landiras fire, one of two fires that have already ravaged nearly 7,700 hectares of forest in Gironde since Tuesday, the Bordeaux public prosecutor announced Friday.
In the state of the investigations, the criminal thesis is privileged concerning the fire of Landiras, declared the public prosecutor's office to the AFP, confirming an information of Sud-Ouest.
The prosecutor's office has however specified that all the tracks continue to be explored by the investigators and that at the moment, no custody is in progress.
Since Tuesday, the Gironde region has been fighting two giant fires that have devoured a total of nearly 7,700 hectares of forest, including 4,500 hectares in this sector of Landiras, a sparsely populated area some 40 km south of Bordeaux, where the situation is still considered extremely complicated by the fire department.
This fire occurred on Tuesday afternoonalmost simultaneously with another one in the sector of La Teste-de-Buch, on the basin of Arcachon, where the flames destroyed since 3.150 ha of the forest leaned to the famous dune of Pilat. In this case, the authorities had very quickly made the link with a broken down truck that had caught fire on a busy forest road.
The accidental thesis is privileged, confirmed again Friday the public prosecutor, by specifying that the expertise of the vehicle will take place Monday afternoon.
