American actor Reni Santoni ("Seinfeld", "Dirty Harry" ...) has passed away

Actor Reni Santoni died on Saturday at the age of 81, his partner Tracy Newman told People magazines and The Hollywood Reporter. He has appeared in many American series.

 

Among his most famous roles, he played the character of Poppie in the sitcom "Seinfeld" (1994-1998) or the policeman Chico Gonzalez alongside Clint Eastwood in the feature film "Dirty Harry" (1971). He has held many secondary roles, notably in "Grey's Anatomy", "Miami Vice" or "Lou Grant". He also starred in the crime comedy "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" and in the action film "Cobra".

 

Born in New York, the actor died of natural causes after spending several months in a nursing home.
