Will Smith's slap: Netflix and Sony interrupt their projects with the actor

Steph Deschamps / April 5, 2022

Will Smith's slap in the face to Chris Rock, host of the 2022 Oscars, stunned everyone. While the actor did win an award in the process, the affair inevitably reflects on his career. Will Smith is now deprived of his collaborations with Netflix and Sony, as both companies have announced.

Sony had just begun shooting the fourth installment of Bad Boys, the franchise in which Will Smith has been the main star since 1995. For Netflix, the actor was to play a crime boss with memory problems in a film called Fast and Loose.

Netflix would have decided not to collaborate with Will Smith anymore, says CNews. Less radical, Sony reserves the possibility of resuming its projects with the star. At Apple+, the actor remains in the film Emancipation, which has finished shooting.

Will Smith has resigned from the Oscar Academy and is awaiting possible sanctions.
