Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey is stepping down as CEO of the social network, it was officially announced Monday. Earlier in the afternoon, the information had already been revealed by the financial news channel CNBC.
A few minutes after the disclosure by CNBC of Jack Dorsey's departure, the Nasadaq Stock Exchange had announced the suspension of the quotation of Twitter's shares, pending an announcement.
I decided to leave Twitter because I think the company is ready to cut the cord with its founders, explained Jack Dorsey, in a statement, which marks the end of an era.
His departure is effective immediately and he will be replaced by the group's technical manager, Parag Agrawal.
