Last weekend, singer Billie Eilish came out as gay in an interview with Variety magazine. "Oh, I think I came out today," she told the same magazine at the Hitmakers Awards.
However, this announcement was clearly not particularly well received by her fans, as evidenced by her drop in followers, from 110,300,420 to 110,200,603 on Instagram. She recently shared her frustration in an Instagram post.
"Thank you Variety for my award and for outraging me on a red carpet at 11am instead of talking to me about other important things. (...) I love boys and girls, please leave me alone about this," she concluded.
The message is clear.
