The Queen of England's granddaughter, Lady Louise, works in a garden center and is paid the minimum wage

One would imagine that LIFE as an 18-year-old royal would mostly involve lavish parties and a bit of vagueness.

Not so much bagging potted plants for garden center customers.

Lady Louise Windsor has a summer job paying £6.83 an hour

So how nice to find the Queen's granddaughter, Lady Louise Windsor, taking a summer job.

Perhaps we shouldn't be so surprised, given that her parents, Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex, are among the hardest working and most discreet members of the royal family.

Adding green fingers to her blue blood should also impress her uncle Prince Charles, himself an avid fan of - not to mention occasional communicator with - the plant world.

An honest graft on or near the minimum wage of £6.83 an hour will have instilled in Lady Louise useful values and an appreciation of the value of money, as it does in many less fortunate adolescents.
