Taylor Swift's name given to... a new species of animal

Who assigns the names of animals and new discoveries? In the case of a millipede, it is the researcher in entomology (study of insects) Derek Hannen who chose and it is a name for the least original.
He chose Taylor Swift to name this new species recently discovered by his team of researchers. A beautiful beast of 22 centimeters long. I'm a big fan of her music, I wanted to show my appreciation by naming this new species from Tennesse after her. It's a great honor, the scientist justified on Twitter.
This same scientist had already attributed the name of his own wife for another species discovered.
