Steph Deschamps / June 17, 2022

Princess Elisabeth will arrive Friday in Oslo, the Norwegian capital, where she will symbolically join the European network of queens and their heirs.

The 20-year-old Crown Princess was invited to the 18th birthday party of Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra. This is her first royal party abroad, according to Mediahuis.

As part of her first year studying history and politics at Lincoln College, Oxford, the princess is scheduled to take exams next week. Her trips back and forth between England and Norway will serve as a break in her blockade. She is expected to attend the gala dinner on Friday night at the Royal Palace in Oslo. The 18th birthday of Princess Ingrid Alexandra, granddaughter of King Harald will be celebrated. The Norwegian princess will one day ascend the throne, after her father, Crown Prince Haakon.

The dinner in Oslo will be the most prestigious royal event since the beginning of the coronavirus health crisis, according to the Mediahuis newspapers. Almost all European royal families send their kings (Felipe of Spain, Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands) or their heirs to the throne (Frederick of Denmark, Victoria of Sweden, William of Luxembourg).
