The American comedian passed away on Friday, March 4, at his home in Los Angeles.

Born in Cincinnati in 1934, Mitchell (Mitch) Ryan first joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, before becoming an actor. In 1967 the series Dark Shadows reveals him to the general public. This allowed him to appear in The Man from the High Plains, alongside Clint Eastwood, in 1973. A collaboration that will mark a turning point in his career.

Limited to small roles on the big screen, he became attached to television and thus landed his first major role in the series Chase. In the 1980s and 1990s, he made a series of appearances in various soap operas, such as The A-Team, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Dallas, For the Love of Risk, Arabesque, Walker Texas Ranger or Madam is Served. We also find him in Santa Barbara , as a ruthless businessman.

The cinema does not forget him for all that. In 1987, he was in the first part of L'arme fatale, in which he played General McAllister. A decade later, he was noticed in Halloween 6 and Liar, Liar with Jim Carrey.

But this Friday, we unfortunately learned the death of Mitchell Ryan. An information confirmed by his daughter-in-law for the Hollywood Reporter. A cardiac insufficiency would be the cause of his death. Mitchell Ryan went away at the age of 88 years, on the heights of Los Angeles.
