Monica Lewinsky, 48, attends the presentation of the series devoted to her secret relationship with former U.S. President Bill Clinton
Monica Lewinsky, 48, was on the red carpet at the presentation of Ryan Murphy's upcoming television series American Crime Story about the national crisis that erupted around her sexual relationship with Bill Clinton while she was a White House intern. The series traces the former president's famous denial of having had them - to the events leading up to the historic December 19, 1998 vote for his impeachment, which did not lead to it. Indeed, in January 1999, Bill Clinton was on trial before the Senate, but the impeachment conviction failed to garner the required two-thirds majority.
Her character is played by the actress Beanie Feldstein in the series. If Monica Lewinsky was present on the red carpet, it is because she played the producer of this event series . In Vanity Fair magazine, she expresses that she saw in this production an opportunity to seize: People have been co-opting and telling my role in this story for decades. In fact, it's only in the last few years that I've been able to fully reclaim my narrative.
The drama will not capture the scene in which she was wearing flashy underwear.
While this is something that actually happened, writer Sarah Burgess revealed in an interview with THR that she initially kept the scene out of the script for fear of traumatizing Monica again. However, the former intern would have appreciated the scene being included.
