Jean-Pierre Pernaut, former star presenter of TF1's 13H, has died

Jean-Pierre Pernaut, former star presenter of the 13H of TF1, died at the age of 71 years, announced Wednesday to AFP the agent of his wife Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut.
The father of Tom, Lou, Olivier and Julia died of lung cancer Wednesday afternoon, she said, a few minutes before TF1 confirmed the journalist's death.
For 33 years, Jean-Pierre Pernaut had imposed himself as the king of the midday news, with a formula based on proximity, often criticized but always very popular.
He had retired from the JT, on December 18, 2020, when he was at the height of his ratings and popularity.
