Following Prince George's invitation to a little girl's birthday party, Prince William and Kate Middleton respond

The 9-year-old prince was invited to the birthday party of a 6-year-old British girl. Her parents accepted the invitation, much to the delight of the girl's family.
This is the kind of anecdote that we always find cute. Prince George, son of William and Kate of Cambridge, received an invitation to come and celebrate the birthday of a 6-year-old girl. Unfortunately, the Queen's great-grandson could not attend, but the Duke and Duchess still wanted to respond to the invitation. A response that has touched many Britons, as revealed by the Mirror newspaper, because it proves that the mail that is sent to them is indeed read.
While they receive a lot of mail, they don't answer all the letters. That's why the answer to this one came as a surprise. Published in the British newspaper, the letter thanks for the invitation and explains the reasons for the refusal:
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked me to thank you for your letter inviting Prince George to your sixth birthday party. I am sorry that it has taken so long (...) His Royal Highnesses are extremely grateful for this kind invitation. But after considering all possibilities, we regret to inform you that His Royal Highnesses have no choice but to decline this invitation.
A royal refusal that the family is definitely not taking badly. The mother of the family reportedly posted a thank you on Twitter, stating that it's an amazing thing to keep to herself.
