Drew Barrymore explains why she doesn't buy Christmas presents for her children

Drew Barrymore is standing by her decision not to buy her two daughters Christmas presents. The actress insisted she's not a "strict, cold mom" to Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight published Thursday.

"I always take them on a trip every Christmas," the "Drew Barrymore Show" host explained. "I don't give them gifts, I think at their age they don't like that. But I tell them, 'I think we'll remember the place, the pictures and the experience, and that's what I want to give you,'" the 47-year-old star continued. Barrymore noted that she considers "a lifetime memory" a "better gift" than "a dollhouse or something. »

The "Never Been Kissed" star added that "everything balances out and everything is fine" as she gave her daughters gifts during the COVID-19 pandemic and the experience "sucked."

"They don't complain about not liking what they get when I take them on a trip. I'm happy doing what I'm doing."
Barrymore shares her daughters with ex-husband Will Kopelman, to whom she was married from 2012 to 2016.
